Hello World!!!
February 23, 2010
Hey Mom, The enter key doesn't work on this computer, so I'll just write all in one line. So far it's been crazy. I started out in the beginnner district with an awesome group of guys. There were eight elders in our district and 6 of us were going to salta!!! My companion's name was elder Hall, he is from Idaho and is great at sports. However, after two days in class, my teacher decided that I should be in the intermediate class instead, and I got transferred. That was really sad because I really liked my old district and it was very sad to see them go. In my new district, there were already 4 elders and 4 sisters, so I became a trio with two of the sisters.... just kidding. :) I became a trio with two of the elders. Their names are Elder Bartholemew and Elder Miller and they are both great guys, but they make me feel big because neither of them are taller than 5' 9" haha. They are super fun. Elder Miller is from Fort Collins, CO and is always happy. We always have a good time together and he can laugh about anything. Elder Bartholemew is very smart and knows spanish and the Gospel very well. The whole district is very advanced at spanish. We seriously speak it allllllll the time. I didn't understand half of sacrement meeting. I feel like I understand enough to get the general Idea of what people are saying, but I still have a hard time communicating. I am definitely glad that I am in this situation, however, because I am learning a whole lot faster. I am a firm believer in immersion, and I have since picked way up from were I was when I came in. I'm almost back to the point I was in high school as far as grammer is concerned. The MTC is great. We went to the temple this morning and the spirit was so strong. (By the way, I saw bro. and sis. Thompson in the temple [ellen's parents], that was pretty cool.) The classes are amazing, I learn so much, yet I feel like I'm never going to have enough time to learn everything I need to learn. It also seriously feels like I've been here for a long, long time, but I'm told that after the first few days, time just flies. Also, cool note, my new district is in the same zone as Elder Rockwood!!! I see him quite a lot and he is leaving tomorrow so I got a picture with him. I'll be sure to send it... eventually. The food here is... overwhealming. There is so much of it, and I can most definitely see how people gain so much weight. I've been keeping track of my weight and excersizes in my journal, I'll be sure to send you home the data so you can run some regressions on it and see how I match up statistically. anyway, I have to go now because they only give you a half hour for email, but since I'm in my new district, my address is different. Everything is the same, except the mailbox is #110. You should totally tell every girl every to send me a letter on dear elder because we're having a letter competition in my district and i'm totally losing. I'm out of time, but I love you all!!! The book is blue, the chuch is true, go cougars!!!! -Elder Spencer

First day, first letter

Dear Mom & Dad,
I can't write much until P-day Friday, I think, but I will be emailing you when I do. My rash is itching less, I think, and I can't tell if it's stopped growing. I love you guys so much! Thanks for raising me in a great home in the gospel!
